The 2017 N.C. Pecan Harvest Festival will once again include a self-guided tour of beautiful and historically significant Whiteville homes on Friday, Nov. 3.

The Queen’s Luncheon at Vineland Station will begin with the presentation of 2017 festival queen Kathryn Ogden and her court of belles and cadets at 11:30 a.m. Parade Marshal Vic Ward will also be honored. The catered meal will begin at 12. Tour sites are open from 1 to 4 p.m.

A $20 combination wristband admits the wearer to both the luncheon and the tour. The number of combination wristbands is limited, and in past years the supply has sold out. The deadline for purchasing combination wristbands is Wednesday, Oct. 25.

This year’s tour sites include four private homes in uptown Whiteville, plus the Reuben Brown House at the corner of East Columbus and South Franklin streets.

Tour-only wristbands are also now available for $10. They can still be purchased on the day of the tour at the Reuben Brown House only.

Proceeds of the tour help to defray expenses of the festival, which is a free, volunteer-run event.

Wristbands are available at Trigon, Inc., 115 W. Main St., Whiteville, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The phone number for Trigon is 642-7761. Purchasers may also call committee member Suzanne King at 642-9732.
